What is Vatta ?

According to Ayurveda and Ayurvedic studies, the doshas (energies) rule all the physiological activities of the body, and Vata is one of three doshas. The other two are kapha and pitta. Now, Vatta is responsible for controlling movements in the human body, such as breath, blood flow, elimination. A combination of air and ether (space), Vatta is seen as the primary dosha since pitta and kapha cannot move without it.

How to Identify the Ayurveda Dosha Vatta in Our Body?

Vata is based on 2 components – Air and Space

Those with Vata dosha are slim, creative, imaginative and energetic. Their sleep is light, hunger is irregular and their mood is highly dependent on the weather and people around them as well as on the food they eat. Their hair is generally dry and frizzy and their skin is dry, rough with small pores.

When in balance: People with Vatta dosha are quick to learn, multitasker, highly creative, flexible, kind-hearted

When out of balance: People with Vatta dosha are forgetful, moody, have trouble sleeping, prone to digestive issues, highly sensitive to cold, anxious and can get overwhelmed easily

How to Balance Vatta Dosha: According to Ayurveda, a vata dominated individual should follow a proper systematic daily routine that includes managing stress through meditation, yoga and other calming activities and maintaining a warm body temperature by consuming warm foods and drinks.
